Hello Scholars! So sorry I have to be out today. Please be amazing for your sub and follow the following instructions. Looking forward to seeing you Wednesday!
1. DO NOW (10 mins) : With a partner, click the video title link to watch the following YouTube video I'm Just a Bill. Despite its simple message, the video points out some important things about the lawmaking process that connect to the reading you did for HW. Which key terms (Ch.12 and additional) can you connect to the video? What are the important takeaways from the song when it comes to the role of congressional committees and the president's signature or veto in lawmaking?
2. GROUP WORK #1 (1 hour): Sell Me a House brochure/sales pitch - due Tues, 2/11. Instructions and Assigned Groups attached at the bottom of this page. Please note: Only the most convincing group in each class period will earn full credit. Be competitive and produce the highest quality work!
3. GROUP WORK #2 (45 mins): Key Terms Project (Ch. 12 and Additional Terms) - due Fri, 2/7. You choose your groups (same as last semester or new ones) or work individually.
4. DEBRIEF (5 mins): Individual reflection on Do Now Log.

2. West Wing: Stackhouse Filibuster (available on Netflix). Focus questions: What are the rules of the filibuster? What is the impact of the filibuster on policymaking?

•SWBAT find 3 examples of and analyze wasteful government spending as a result of pork barrel:
